About Us - Rochester, New York Dance Studio.

DANCE BIZ was established in 1985.  The studio offers many styles of dance for your learning experience.  Lessons are available for the beginner through advanced and professional levels.  Children's classes begin at 3 years old through 17 years old. The studio also offers one of the largest adult programs in the Rochester area. We have adult classes in all of our styles of dance and at different levels. Our classes are non-competitive in an enjoyable learning atmosphere.  Our facility has three studios with suspended hardwood floors (35' x 26', 36' x 17', 32' x 21') and A/C for summer classes.

DAVID INTERLICCHIA, Director - David is an instructor, performer, and has been training for many years.  He continues to direct Dance Biz, teach dance at public and private schools, teach for corporate and private organizations in western New York.  He is a certified Dance teacher and continues to study and be innovative with many dance styles to bring his students the best and latest styles in dance.  David has become a dance instructor and performer because of his natural love for dance and teaching.

JULIE CALLAHAN, Instructor – Since the age of 3 years old, Julie has studied many forms of dance.  She teaches Tap, Jazz, Ballet, Lyrical, Pointe and Hip Hop at beginner to advanced levels. Her diverse teaching abilities bring creativity to every children’s and adult class she teaches.  Julie has been a dance instructor for 11 years. She continues to be innovative with our new Dance Company programs and her technical and fun style of teaching creates an enjoyable learning atmosphere.

KATHY WHITFIELD, Irish Dance Instructor - Kathy has been step dancing for over 20 years, the first ten of those in competition, where she competed in numerous feiseanna (Irish dance competition) and reached the Championship Level. Having watched many interested students leave Irish dancing because they wanted a less intense experience than that provided by competitive schools, as well as many adults frustrated by the tradition of excluding adults from step dance instruction, she started Rince Na Saor in 1997 as a means for students of all ages to study Irish dance in a more relaxed, recreational environment. She lives in Greece with her husband, Art, and her two sons, Kevin and Brendan.

CHERYL CASTRONOVO, has been dancing for over 25 years.  She studied in Buffalo where as a dance student she won numerous awards and competitions. During that time she traveled to New York City to study dance and also became involved in many community and school productions both in performing and choreography.   After receiving her Associates Degree, she married and moved to Rochester where she became a certified Aerobics Instructor as well as continuing to teach in several area dance schools.   She teaches ages 3 to adult from beginner to advanced levels.  She resides in North Greece with her husband Don and three sons, Chris, Nick, Drew and dedicates her passion of dance to the memory of her daughter Liana Grace.
